There's multiple facets to sharing appreciation within the company. Either people appreciate each other or users appreciating the product. It's always good to share these as they keep motivation high.
First, it’s important to learn how to share appreciation within the company and team.
For example at GitLab existed a #thanks
Slack channel. The existence alone does not mean anything, but you need to actually use it. As a manager you can have great impact on this, but reminding people to share content there.
A patter I liked even more was at CodeSandbox using a more general #goodvibes-and-thanks
channel. Sharing great user feedback next to people highlighting great collaboration lowers the barrier even more and has really good impact on the team.
I highly recommend to create this culture within your company and see what works well.
Example from Procreate about sharing customer feedback with their team.
Once you are good at sharing appreciation within the team, you should also not forget to share appreciation to the outside.
Look for companies in a similar space like yours, and check what they do really well. How do they tell their users that they appreciate them? Best case, they absolutely do not, so you have an opportunity to fill that slot in a public way.
Don’t take anything for granted. We all enjoy a pat on our back sometimes and when it does not happen organically, make sure it becomes part of your work. It’s great for everyone.
